THE "ATLANTIC" DISTRIBUTION OF MODERN CRO-MAGNON PEOPLE

Distribution of various Cro-Magnon people, most of which are still in existence. However, the Iberians have mostly disappeared, and the Guanches among the Canary Islands were virtaully annihilated by the Spanish in the 16th century. Oliveira Martins, a distinguished Portuguese historian, notes that many of the present day Cro-Magnon people call themselves by a name ending in tani, thus the Aquitani, Ausetani, Bastetani, Bergistani, Britani, Ceretani, Carpetani, Eretani, Lusitani, Mauritani, Oretani, Sedetani and Turdetani of the Atlantic seaboard and British Isles.
